The 4wd vehicles definitely sacrifice some comfort for families, but increase the adventure factor. A 4wd holiday is more like traditional camping and i would only suggest these vehicles for families that have experience camping. While the above campervans require little setup, the 4wd vehicles require you to set up your vehicle for sleeping each night. However, having 4wd allows you to get off the beaten path and access more remote locations.

Failure to plan is planning to fail… you’ve no doubt heard this before! when it comes to camping with kids, this is a motto to live by. Aim to make your kids to feel at home in the campervan or tent, so be sure to bring plenty of familiar objects for them. This could be their bedding from home, specific toys, or even their plates or cups. Personal items will allow them to settle quickly into camping and feel at home. When choosing a campervan, be sure to get something big enough for the whole family. We recommend hiring a motorhome with an overcab, as kids adore sleeping in this area.
The fite family installed a murphy bed and ladder for their young child so she’s able to go up and down at her leisure. Along their travels, they had another baby and modified the van to accommodate their newborn by building a wall and infant-sized murphy bed. The top photo shows their van set up for a family of 3 and the bottom photo shows their setup for a family of 4. @jubel_explorer this family of four travels the uk in a converted sprinter campervan with two adorable bunks in the back for the little ones. It’s one of the most unique family camper van layouts we’ve seen and we can imagine the kids love having their own cozy bunks to sleep in.
If there is room, take your child’s favorite blanket and pillow so that he or she can get cozy and relaxed, especially on a long flight, long layover or long drive. A sense of the familiar can help a kid adjust to the unfamiliar sights and sounds of planes, airports, and hotels. Plus, you can wrap your child up in a blanket and turn on their favorite movie on a tablet or a portable dvd player when they start to get too antsy. It’s also a good idea to pack a day’s worth of clothes, pajamas, a toothbrush, and some extra snacks in a carry-on bag for the plane or an easy-to-reach duffle bag in the car so you don’t have to dig through suitcases at the end of a long day of traveling.
The first time i played uno was in spain in 1994. My spanish was pretty basic but luckily it didn’t need to be good to play uno with my new spanish friends. It was the perfect way to break the ice with people i didn’t know and to start bonding. Uno has a universal language of its own. The game is so easy to understand and enjoyable to play, it is a favourite for all age groups. The uno pack we play with today was purchased in spain many years ago. It will always be my number one choice of travel card game to play.
